Big Leaf Zhenshan Black Puer Cake 2005

ZhenShan refers to the east side of the mountain, the best side for growing tea. The east side has the morning sun and not the harshness of the afternoon sun. Because the mountain ranges run from east to west, there is less growing area on the east and west side, and is usually at a higher altitude. These areas produce the best tea. The mao cha used for this blend is made from 5th to 8th grades with 1st grade buds. The biggest percentage in the blend come from De Hong for fragrance and the mao cha from Xi Shuang Ban Na and Lin Chang provide a very full bodied rich taste. Many infusions can be made from this tea. This tea is harvested later in the season adding to the richness.
