Alishan Gao Shan Cha (High Mountain) Taiwan Oolong 2007
Alishan Gao Shan Cha (High Mountain) Taiwan Oolong 2007
Alishan is a high mountain resort and nature preserve in Southwestern Taiwan famous for its scenic beauty and high altitude tea gardens. While the tea production in this area is relatively new (30 years), it has become a highly regarded region due to its advantageous environment. Our Alishan Gao Shan Cha comes from the Qing Xin Oolong bush that grows 1500 meters above sea level in the fog-shrouded mountains. The clouds and high altitude create a nutritious tea rich in chlorophyll and amino acids. While the dry leaves have a sweet honey fragrance the aroma shifts to resemble flavor light sugarcane once brewed. The tea color is a bright honey- green color. The clean flavor is robust without heaviness, which never turns bitter. Our Alishan Gao Shan Cha is an excellent example of high quality Taiwanese Oolong tea. A rare treat for tea connoisseurs!
