Our little band of travlers made it to Jiangsu Province today to visit the gardens where Bi Luo Chun is grown. Bi Luo Chun is one of the most prized Chinese green teas. The growing area is small and this tea is often faked. The real thing however is spectacular.

Seven Cups Green Tea Tour Day 2

The tour today was in Anji. Anji Bai Cha is one of the great green teas. Bai cha means white tea in Chinese but this tea is green. This tea was the favorite of the famous Song Dynasty emperor, Song Hui Zhong.

Puer Tour Day Ten Afternoon

After a great lunch we left to continue our journey to the ancient city of Dali. When I had visited this area 4 years ago there was not the road then that is there now, so our travel time was cut in half.

Puer Tour Day Eight

On the eighth day we spent the day in Lincang. Master Hu gave us a class in distinguishing quality in a puer cake. As a consequence we had some very good tea in the morning.

The solar eclipse has blocked out half of the sun, and we are stuck in traffic, the normal morning traffic plus the people going blind from staring at the sun through tinted windows. Puer Tea Tour Day 6

We spent day 6 in the refurbished Cha Ma Shi Jinggu Puer Factory making a 50 kilo Golden Melon, and then playing a great game of basketball with the factory team.

In the morning we drove to Youle. Youle is another one of the ‘Six Famous Mountains’ famous for it’s puer tea. We all got to make our own cakes and drank a lot of tea. Cha Ma Shi has six of these small factories scatter around the puer growing area of Yunnan.  Here are some… // MORE
