This tea set’s matte pale green glaze feels smooth to the touch and adds dimension to the gentle curves of the teaware. This is the type of glaze that the Ru Kiln was known for using. The simple elegance of the teaware is also characteristic of the wares from the kiln. The porcelain teaware is accented by bamboo tea accessories. The bamboo tongs and tea tray, with a bamboo lid and a plastic base, can be cleaned with water if needed.

Any type of tea can be made using this versatile tea set. All of the teaware pieces are fully glazed and the perfect size for gongfu preparation. Try making our Baiyun Xiangpian (White Cloud Jasmine), Yun Wu (Clouds and Mist), and Tai Ju (Baby Chrysanthemum) with it.

The teapot can be used to make enough tea to make a large cup for yourself or four small cups to share. You and your guests can enjoy multiple steeps of the same tea. The inside of the teapot is glazed and is ideal for making any type of tea. There is a built-in strainer behind the spout.

The Ru Kiln of the Song Dynasty was one of the five great kilns (五大名窯), along with the Ge Kiln (哥窯), Guan Kiln (官窯), Ding Kiln (定窯), and Jun Kiln (均窑).
