This is a beautiful jasmine tea. It has a mild flavor and aroma that comes out over many infusions. The fact that the aroma lasts over many infusions is also a way of proving that this tea is infused with real jasmine flowers, not artificially scented.

Silver Dragon Jasmine Pearls is our high-end jasmine tea in pearl shape. This tea is picked from a tea bush cultivar typically used for white tea, but these leaves are not processed a “white tea”. They are instead processed as a green tea, the standard base for all jasmine teas.
This tea has smaller stems, so the pearls are rolled tighter making them smaller than our Jasmine Pearls. For Silver Dragon Jasmine Pearls, one bud with a sprig is picked in early spring, then hand rolled into a pearl shape and dried as a green tea. Instead of drying the tea for a long time, like is done with white tea, tea makers pan fire the pearls to remove moisture and halt oxidation. Preventing oxidation preserves the green color of the leaves. Silver Dragon Jasmine Pearls are made from spring buds so the buds are fat and the pearls appear white in color due to the fuzzy white trichomes of young tea buds.
The dried pearls are then mixed in with freshly picked jasmine flowers ( about 60% of tea and 40% jasmine) and left to absorb the flavor and aroma of the jasmine. The tea is then separated from the jasmine flowers and allowed to dry. For Silver Dragon Jasmine Pearls this process is repeated a total of five times with fresh batches of jasmine each time.
This is a beautiful jasmine tea to watch as the pearls slowly uncurl in the water. It has a delicate jasmine taste and aroma that comes out over many infusions. Yin Hao Long Zhu (Silver Dragon Jasmine Pearls) 2017 brewing guidelines
Teaware: 12 oz. glass or porcelain pot
Amount: ½ Tbs of tea leaves
Water: 190°F filtered water
Infusion: First infusion at least 2 minutes. The leaves are good for 6 infusions. Add a little more time for each subsequent infusion.
