A very small gaiwan in fine thin porcelain, perfect for gongfu brewing. Hand-painted on one side with a pattern of lofty mountains in classic blue and white with red accents.

This small size of gaiwan is ideal for gongfu brewing with strong control over the strength of the infusion. Use a large amount of leaf (8 grams or more) and brew for multiple very short infusions to enjoy the way the flavor changes as the leaves gradually open up.

Among China’s many examples of fine pottery, Jingdezhen porcelain has a long history reaching back over 2,000 years. Its white porcelain in this style is said to be “white as jade, bright as a mirror, thin as paper, and loud as a chime.”
