At Seven Cups, we are very aware of our responsibility to uphold your privacy. We stand by the following simple promise:
We will never share any of your personal information, be it an e-mail or mailing address, telephone number or name, with anyone. Ever.
It really is as simple as that! Our web visitors may have cause to contact us for a number of reasons – to ask questions, supply feedback, sign up for membership benefits and our newsletter, and of course to buy our gourmet tea.
Obviously, we need to store some of that information so that we can contact you again, just in the same way that your computer does with e-mail addresses. We like to chat with our customers and website visitors; we try to reply personally to all the messages we receive. Your personal information is securely stored and will always remain private.
We will send you an e-mail or call you only if there is a genuine need for us to do so – if you have a question pending, or there is query about your order, for example. We are strictly anti-spam – we do not and will never bombard anyone with e-mails or advertising for our products. We send our monthly newsletter notification e-mails only to those people who have specifically requested them, and if at any time you want to be removed from our mailing list, you can simply reply to the email stating your wish and we will remove your address immediately, no questions asked.
We take the issue of secure on-line ordering very seriously. Every time you send us your credit card number and your billing and shipping information, we use industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to prevent the information from being intercepted. We also encrypt your credit card number when we store your order.
As with virtually all websites, our shopping cart technology will place a small ‘cookie’ on your computer when you add items to your cart. A cookie is a tiny amount of data sent to, or requested from, your computer. Cookies are used in order to keep track of your shopping cart. Without cookies, the online ordering system would not be able to associate your shopping cart with you, and you would not be able to carry more than one item in your cart at a time. The cookie is NOT spy ware or ad ware or anything even remotely sinister, and it does not collect any information from you that is ever used for purposes other than described above.
