This elegant pale blue-green gaiwan made in historic Jingdezhen in Jiangxi Province.
The moderately sized bowl is suitable for a wide variety of teas and brewing styles, while the piece’s extra wide saucer gives the gaiwan a stately and elevated feel.
The blue-green color of this gaiwan has a soft, cool glow, similar but distinct from celadon’s plum green. The exterior of the cup has the image of a bird sitting on the branch of a fruiting lychee tree, poised to take off. The lines of the design have a subtle metallic gold reflection when faced to light.
