Bai Long Xu (White Dragon Whiskers)
Yunnan White Tea Cake 100g 2023
A small Yunnan white tea cake made entirely from hand-picked buds with high nutritional content. Naturally sun-dried to create a very smooth character. Brews a light apricot-colored, highly aromatic tea with a complex finish.
The massive tea buds of this year’s harvest are covered in a soft down that shines like velvet. Slow-brewing yet incredibly persistent. The complicated infusion has plenty of depth in the apricot character often found in Baiyingshan sheng puer, the dried rose note of Yunnan’s black tea, and a soft mossy and honeysuckle-like sweetness all its own.

Very large young tea buds from Baiyingshan give this tea its poetic name from their very long, curving shape and the pale color of their coats of downy fuzz. They yield a rich, sweet, and complex brew with an aroma like a bunch of fresh-picked flowers, due in part to their high concentration of sweet amino acids. The infusion is a bright, light apricot color, and the permeating aroma will accompany you through the last cup.
This is tea exclusively made from young tea buds, which was once a tribute tea made only for the imperial court. Just like high-quality green tea, the buds for this tea are picked in the early spring before the Qing Ming Festival around April 25th.
