A striking starburst pattern in pale yellow and faint traces of blue on a deep red background fills the bottom of the bowl of this small ceramic teacup. As this pattern is formed by the way the glaze drips in the kiln, each piece is unique. The dark brown glaze background reveals tiny stable fractures that produce a starry glittering effect when held in the light.  The outside of the cup has a faintly textured honeycomb pattern.
