Dan Cong Wulong Tea 2025

Coming soon!

Xing Ren Xiang may be the most overtly “floral” Dan Cong Wulong in our 2025 catalog. It’s also one of the most complex.

True to its name, this tea’s aroma suggests both the airy and bright sweetness of white flowers alongside darker notes of marizpan and amaretto in a grand package reminiscent of a blooming almond tree.

Xin Ren Xiang is an essential for the Dan Cong wulong enthusiast and a tea that also offers plenty to intrigue any wulong lover looking to expand their palate. Almond Blossom’s pale golden-orange liquor holds a lot of power and aroma, evident from the very first sip.

Underneath a wave of blooming jasmine and lily, Almond Blossom first hits with a bitterness that quickly dissipates into a nutty marzipan-like sweetness with the lingering finish and mouthfeel of a sip of a sweet liquor like Italian amaretto.

Xing Ren Xiang exemplifies the intricate multi-sensory experience that gongfu cha and Chaozhou tea culture has sprung up centered around.

Roasting Dan Cong Wulong Traditionally

Dark charcoal ash mounded high in several large round metal stoves for roasting Dan Cong Wulong tea.

The final flavor-developing roast for this tea is done the traditional way for Dan Cong wulong: slow-roasting over smokeless lychee-root charcoal. The ash from this local charcoal is a dark sooty grey-black, rather than white like the bamboo charcoal used to roast Wuyi rock wulong. This delicate touch of charcoal roasting accents the innate fragrance of the tea leaves.
